October 15, 2021The “Glue Gang” or “Good Samaritan” syndicate is out on the prowl to victimize ATM users, usually elderly individuals. They will put glue on the Zero (0) and Cancel keys of the ATM keypad to make it difficult for card holders to enter their PIN code. The suspect will then wait and observe for unsuspecting victims and would offer assistance. The suspect will ask the card holder to divulge his/her PIN code or request the card holder to key in the PIN code, while watching. The suspect will then confuse the card holder, surreptitiously take the ATM card and inform the unsuspecting victim that the card has been apparently captured due to numerous failed transaction attempts. Please ensure the security of your ATM PIN code and strictly follow ATM transaction guidelines.
