November 1, 2015Pursuant to policy CHOM No. 15-460 of the Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC), all checks with erasures, alterations or missing information will NO longer be eligible or accepted for clearing regardless of any signature or initial to indicate authorization of erasures and alterations effective January 4, 2016. The new regulation covers erasures or alterations of date, name of payee, amount in figures and words, signature, account name, account number, check number, MICR characters. However, it will not affect Bank of Commerce checks which are encashed or deposited at Bank of Commerce branches as “on-us” checks.
