November 5, 2025 Bank of Commerce (BankCom), an affiliate of San Miguel Corporation (SMC), has earned its first-ever Golden Arrow distinction from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), underscoring the Bank’s commitment to strong governance, transparency, and ethical business practices. BankCom joins four (4) other SMC business units honored at the 2025 ICD Golden Arrow Awards: San Miguel Food and Beverage, Inc. (3 Golden Arrows), Petron Corporation (3 Golden Arrows), San Miguel Corporation (2 Golden Arrows) and Ginebra San Miguel, Inc. (1 Golden Arrow). This year, ICD recognized 109 top performing publicly listed companies and 26 insurance firms based on their performance in the 2024 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) and the Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS). The ACGS Assessment, composed of 193 questions, evaluates areas such as board structure, executive compensation, quality of audit and sustainability practices based on disclosures available on the companies’ official website. BankCom Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Board Member Anton S. Laquindanum, accepted the award during the ceremony last October 23, 2025 at Okada Manila. BankCom Chairperson Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad was also present at the event to lead the toast to the awardees as ICD Chairperson. “It is a great honor for us to be recognized with 1 Golden Arrow Award from ICD.
