Because your security is our utmost concern, we are continually implementing measures to ensure the security of your account and the safety of performing online transactions via the Bank of Commerce Internet Banking Facility.

For your added protection, we encourage you to do the following, on your part:

  1. Manage your password – immediately change your password if you think your account has been compromised. The Bank of Commerce Internet Banking Facility also prompts you to change your password every ninety (90) days to ensure maximum security.
  2. Protect your account against ‘Phishing’ attacks – ‘phishing’ uses emails or websites, pretending to be legitimate banks, to get the client’s login credentials and account information. The Bank will not ask for pertinent details such as your Account Number, Card Number, ATM PINs, etc. via email, SMS, embedded link, or any form of online advertisements.
The official URL of Bank of Commerce is https://www.bankcom.com.ph
  3. Check the security of the web page you are accessing before entering personal details or account information – ‘pharming’ is a cyber attack intended to redirect a website’s traffic to another bogus site.

Pharming is an attempt to deceive Internet users by hijacking a Web site’s domain name, or URL, and redirecting users to a phony Web site where fraudulent requests for information are made. You can check the legitimacy of the site by doing these precautionary measures:

    a) Check the URL of any site that asks you to provide personal information. Make sure your session begins at the known authentic address of the site, with no additional characters appended to it.
    b) Use a trusted Internet Service Provider.
    c) Check the certificate of the site. A closed padlock may be located in the status bar at the bottom of your browser window or at the top of the browser window between the address and search fields, you may click on the padlock icon to view the Site’s certificate.
  4. Protect your computer against viruses and hacking attacks.
  5. Avoid using public computers when performing online banking transactions.
